Cross Lake 32 Unit Housing

The Billy Halcrow Subdivision in Cross Lake consists of 32 new energy efficient housing units. These units incorporate a number of features intended to minimize energy use, increase tenant comfort and reduce maintenance and operation costs. Features included geothermal heating, in slab radiant heating, building orientation, window placement, covered entries and site layouts that enhance natural ventilation.

This project was the winner of a 2008 Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporations (CMHC) national housing award for best practices in affordable housing. The project was recognized for its energy efficiency and economic viability.
